Seller Sync runs an MCP server at https://api.seller-sync.co/mcp. Add that URL to Claude as a custom connector, approve the connection, and Claude can answer questions about your TikTok Shop sales, profit, fees, payouts, ad spend and Shop Performance Score using your synced data.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard Claude and ChatGPT use to read data from other services. You don't need to know how it works to use it. The setup below takes three steps and no API key.
Before you start
- A Seller Sync account with at least one TikTok Shop connected, and its first sync finished.
- The Manage API tokens permission in your organization. Org owners and the Manager role have it by default. Viewers and Operators don't, so ask your org owner to connect or to change your role.
- Claude on the web or desktop app, or a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education).
Connect Claude
- In Seller Sync, open MCP in the sidebar and copy the connector URL.
- In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste the URL.
- Claude opens a Seller Sync sign-in page. Log in, pick the organization to connect if you belong to more than one, and click Approve.
Approving creates an access token for Claude behind the scenes, so there is nothing to copy back. The connection then shows up in Seller Sync under Connected Apps on the MCP page.
If you'd rather watch it done, there's a video walkthrough of the Claude setup.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers through Developer mode, which you can only switch on at chatgpt.com in a browser. The desktop and mobile apps don't have the setting.
- On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
- Go to Settings → Plugins, select + and paste the connector URL. There is no API key field to fill in.
- Log in to Seller Sync, pick your organization and approve. The connector then appears under Developer mode in the composer.
Cursor, Windsurf and other MCP clients
Clients that can't do the sign-in step need a manual token. On the MCP page in Seller Sync, click Create Token, give it a name and copy the token, which starts with mcp_pat_. Then add Seller Sync to your client's MCP config:
{
"mcpServers": {
"seller-sync": {
"url": "https://api.seller-sync.co/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_TOKEN>" }
}
}
}
Manual tokens don't expire. Treat one like a password and revoke it when you stop using it.
What you can ask
You ask in plain language and Claude picks the right data source. These are the sources Seller Sync exposes and the kind of question each one answers.
| Ask something like | What Claude reads |
|---|---|
| "What were my sales across all shops last week?" | GMV, orders, gross revenue and refunds, per shop and combined |
| "Was my main shop profitable in September? Compare it with August." | A P&L statement: gross sales, promotions, advertising, shipping, refunds, fees, affiliate commission, COGS, gross profit and net profit |
| "What did TikTok take in fees and commission this month?" | Fees, commission and tax by category, from TikTok's settlement statements |
| "How much did I spend on GMV Max ads in September?" | GMV Max ad spend, per shop and in total |
| "Which orders never got paid out?" | Orders older than TikTok's settlement window that still have no finance statement |
| "What sold best this week, and how many orders were cancelled?" | Order status counts and top products by GMV |
| "Show me the settlement for order [order ID]." | Status, line items and settlement details for that order |
| "Why did my Shop Performance Score drop?" | Current score and tier, daily score history, and a log of drops, locked benefits and TikTok rule changes |
Follow-up questions work too. After a P&L answer you can ask "break that down by week" or "compare it with the previous period", and Claude asks for the same statement split weekly or with the earlier period alongside.
Where the answers have limits
Recent fee and net figures fill in later. They come from TikTok's settlement statements, which only exist once an order settles. Ask about last week and those totals will be lower than they end up. The P&L data tells Claude which dates are still estimated and how much of your product cost (COGS) has been entered, so the answer can flag both.
A shop needs its first sync to finish. Until it does, the P&L refuses to answer, because every row would read zero and look like a dead month. Sales and ad spend questions don't make that check and return zeros for days with no data. If a number looks far too low, check the shop's sync status in Seller Sync.
One question covers up to 90 days. A daily P&L covers up to 31. For a longer stretch, ask month by month.
P&L works one shop at a time. Sales, ad spend and daily order trends add up across all your shops when you don't name one. For a P&L or Shop Performance Score history, name the shop.
Each connection allows 60 requests a minute. A conversation stays well under that.
What Claude can and can't see
The connection is read-only. Every request runs through a database account that can only read, so nothing Claude does through Seller Sync can change, delete or export data in your account.
Access follows your Seller Sync permissions. The org owner's connection sees every active shop in the organization. Anyone else sees only the shops assigned to them, and asking about any other shop returns "No accessible shop named …".
Disconnecting
Removing the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT isn't guaranteed to revoke its access in Seller Sync. To be sure a connection is cut off, open MCP in Seller Sync and click Disconnect next to it under Connected Apps. Manual tokens have a Revoke button under Manual Tokens. Both take effect immediately.
Access also ends automatically if your Seller Sync account is deactivated or you leave the organization.
