TikTok Seller Center is free, real-time and where you run your shop, so you'll keep using it whatever else you add. What it doesn't do is tell you what you actually made. It has no field for your product costs in any documentation we found, it shows one shop at a time, and every export is a manual download. Seller Sync reads the same data through TikTok's official API and adds those missing pieces: net profit after product costs, many shops in one place, and reports that run on a schedule.
We make Seller Sync, so read this with that in mind. Seller Center facts come from TikTok's Seller University, checked in October 2026.
What Seller Center already gives you
More than many sellers use:
- Shop Analytics shows GMV, orders, AOV, refunds and customers, with GMV split by LIVE, video and product card, and by your own content versus affiliates. Key metrics such as GMV and orders update in real time (Shop Analytics).
- Product Analytics gives a funnel per product: impressions, click-through, add-to-cart and orders, split by traffic source (Product Analytics).
- Video analytics covers GMV, views, completion rate and engagement per video.
- Finances shows money on hold with a reason per order, payouts in progress and payouts completed, and exports a multi-sheet Excel settlement report (Finances Page FAQ).
- Spending Insights, being rolled out to eligible sellers, adds up referral fees, promotions, GMV Max spend and affiliate commission against your sales, for up to three months at a time (Spending Insights).
- User Management has eight preset roles, including Finance Specialist and Advertising Manager, plus custom roles.
If you run one shop and check numbers once a month, that may be all you need.
Where it stops
No product costs, so no net profit. Spending Insights covers what TikTok takes. None of the official documentation we found has a place to enter what each product cost you, so the number Seller Center can't show is the one you care about most: profit after cost of goods.
One shop at a time. You can link several seller accounts, but only ones under the same business license, and you switch between them rather than seeing them together (Access Management). An agency with ten clients has ten separate views.
Data in three places. Ad metrics live in Shop Ads, commission metrics in the Affiliate Center, and orders and payouts in Seller Center. Putting them together is your job.
Manual exports. We found no scheduled or automated export in TikTok's documentation. Every report starts with someone clicking Export and waiting for the file.
What Seller Sync adds
- A P&L with your costs in it. Enter a cost per SKU, or import thousands from a CSV. Costs can apply to all orders, from today or from a set date, so a supplier price change doesn't rewrite last quarter. Add fixed costs like payroll, software or rent as one-time, daily, weekly or monthly expenses, and they come off net profit. The P&L itemizes promotions, ad spend, shipping, refunds, each TikTok fee, affiliate commission, cost of goods (with samples costed separately), gross profit, expenses and net profit.
- Every shop in one organization. Shops under different business licenses sit side by side, and each team member sees only the shops assigned to them.
- Reports that run themselves. Schedule any report daily, weekly, monthly or on a custom cron, built on your own Excel template, with a Slack message when it's ready.
- Customer analytics. Repeat rate, value per customer, monthly cohorts showing whether new customers come back, and segments such as lapsed customers and customers who first bought through a creator.
- Shop Health history. Your Shop Performance Score tracked daily, with email alerts when the tier drops or a benefit gets locked. This covers US shops only.
- Payout checks. Orders matched against TikTok's settlement statements, so unpaid orders stand out.
- Ask in plain language. Connect Claude or ChatGPT and ask "Was I profitable last month?" instead of building the answer yourself.
What Seller Sync doesn't replace
You still need Seller Center for everything operational: listings, orders, fulfillment, LIVE, customer service and your bank details. Seller Sync reads your TikTok data for reporting and doesn't manage any of that.
Seller Center is also faster. Its key metrics are real-time, while Seller Sync syncs each shop daily, re-pulling the last 28 days each time to catch late refunds and settlements. For watching a LIVE as it happens, use Seller Center. Seller Sync also has no video, LIVE or product-funnel analytics, so keep using Seller Center for content performance.

When Seller Center is enough
Stay with Seller Center alone if you run one shop, your product costs are simple enough to work out by hand, and a monthly look at the settlement export answers your questions. Add Seller Sync when you need net profit you trust every week, run more than one shop, or report to someone else on a schedule.
